Parent Club Activities

Candy Bar Fundraiser: Students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade can earn money towards Camp K.E.E.P. by selling candy bars beginning February 10.
Box Tops: A simple fundraiser is Box Tops for Education. Just remove them from the package and send them to your child's classroom or to the school office.
2009-2010 Yearbook: Mrs. McCaffery is collecting pictures to use in this year's memory book. See the Yearbook section for more details.
Student Activities
Pop-Tab Collection: Help support the Ronald McDonald House by saving the tabs from aluminum tabs (be careful removing them!) and sending them to school. There's a collection house in the MPR.
Jump-for-Heart: This annual fundraising event that supports the American Heart Association culminates with jumping activities on Friday, February 26.

Lincoln's Day Holiday - Mon., Feb. 8: Mr. Lincoln presided during this country's Civil War and signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
Candy Bar Fundraiser begins - Wed. Feb. 10: Intermediate students start selling candy bars to help offset the cost of their sixth grade Camp K.E.E.P. experience.
Winter Olympics - Fri. 2/12 - Sun. 2/28: Vancouver, British Columbia, hosts the 2010 games.
Presidents Day Holiday - Mon. 2/15: Enjoy another three-day weekend.
School Site Council Meeting - Thurs. 2/18: Site Council members discuss what to do with the meager SIP funds alloted to Laurelglen.
2-Hour Early Dismissal for Staff Development - Tues. 2/23: This is the fifth of a series of seven.
Jump-for-Heart Activities - Fri. 2/26: Fundraiser envelopes are due today. Students who returned permission forms can participate in the jumping activities that start at 1:45 for grades 1-3 and at 2:15 for grades 4-6.

Spring Pictures - Tues. 3/2: Fox Photos is on campus to take your 6-months-later picture.
School Track Meet - 3/17 through 4/16: Track events begin during lunch recess on Wednesday, March 17 and continue until April 16. Check the Calendar or the After-School Sports pages for a tentative schedule.
End of Third Quarter - Fri. 3/19: Report Cards go home on the following Friday.

Camp K.E.E.P. for 6th Grade - Week of April 19: The net cost of K.E.E.P. this year is $305. We attend with a 6th grade class from St. John's.
STAR Testing week - April 26-30: The test that drives our curriculum arrives this week. Please plan to have your child in class during testing sessions.

District Track Meet - Sat. 5/1: Runners, jumpers, and throwers from around the district compete at CSUB from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M
Open House - Thurs. 5/13: Visit the school and see what children have accomplished during the year.
