2005 SCMAF Champions

Playing under crystal clear skies at Veterans Park in the City of Commerce on Sunday, December 4, the girls' volleyball team won the 2005 SCMAF Championship. Eight teams from around the SoCal area qualified to play. The Scots placed second in their pool of four, losing two games to Commerce 21-23 and 17-21 (games were played to 21 with a 23 point cap) . In the semi-final match, Laurelglen defeated an always tough Stockdale squad 23-21 and 21-16 to advance to the finals against Commerce. This time the girls prevailed in two games, taking the first in an exciting 23-21 battle and the second by a score of 21-12. Erika S. earned tournament MVP honors and Valerie D. was chosen for the All-Tournament team. Congratulations to all of the girls: Fifth graders Leslie D., Tali B., Nadya A., Valerie D., Bailey R., and Taylor H.; and Sixth graders Amanda L., Gabby P., Tifani W., Victoria D., Delaney W., and Erika S.
