Intermediate students averaging a 3.0 in a single quarter are recognized with the title of Honor Roll recipient. A 3.0 grade point average (GPA) is earned through calculating the amount of A's, B's and C's a student earns. Each grade is worth a set amount of points: A=4, B=3, C=2. Students receiving D or F grades are disqualified from earning Honor Roll, regardless of their GPA.
GPA is tallied by adding up the sum of grade points and dividing by the total number of grades.
Math- C (2)
Science- A (4)
History- B (3)
Total Points=4+3+2+4+3=16 divided by 5 subjects 16/5=3.2 GPA
In addition to receiving a pin and/or certificate, Honor Roll recipients also receive 30 points towards their Block Letter 'S' for each quarter they earn a 3.0 or higher. Students who earn a 3.0 or better all four quarters in a single academic year receive a bonus 30 points towards their Block Letter 'S', for a total of 150 points earned for Scholarship.
