FAQ's

Here you will find answers to some of the most commonly asked HR questions. If you are unable to find your answer here, please contact Human Resources.
If you received your education outside of the US, it will need to be evaluated to meet US educational equivalent standards. You can utilize any of the evaluation service members on the NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) site . Evaluation services are available for all educational levels.

Q - HOW DO I UPDATE MY NAME, ADDRESS OR PHONE NUMBER WITH P-BVUSD?
Please use the "Change of Address" form to update your name, address or phone number. It is very important to provide current information regarding name, address and phone number changes so that we are able to communicate important information to our employees effectively.

- Name Change: Complete a Name Change Form at the District Office. You must also include a copy of your updated Driver's License or ID and Social Security Card indicating the new name.
- Address Change: Address Changes are now completed by using ESS (Employee Self Service) by visiting the following link: Employee Self Service (ESS)
Work dates for both Certificated Personnel and Classified Personnel who work less than 12 months can be found on our main page menu under "Work Schedule".
Q - WHERE CAN I GET A TYPING CERTIFICATE?
You can view a list of possible typing certificate providers HERE. The minimum WPM (Words Per Minute) is 40 for all district clerical positions however, some positions may require a higher WPM rate. Please note that typing certificates from online sources/testing services(Ratatype, typing.com, speedtypingonline.com, etc.) are NOT accepted. Typing tests must be completed in-person with the chosen test provider.
Q - WHERE CAN I FIND SALARY SCHEDULES?
Current and prior year salary schedules can be found on the "Labor Relations" and "Help & Resources" pages
Q - WHERE CAN I FIND A COPY OF MY BARGAINING UNIT AGREEMENT?
Bargaining unit agreements between P-BVTA/CTA/NEA, Teamsters and CSEA can be found on the "Labor Relations" page.
Q - HOW DO I UPLOAD DOCUMENTS TO MY APPLICATION?
If you have access to a scanner, cell phone camera etc. you are able to upload documents to your application. Our system accepts a number of different file types. You may also visit a local library that offers document scanning services. P-BVUSD will upload documents to your application on Wednesdays only. If you choose to have us upload them for you, the documents must be submitted to HR no later than Tuesday evening by 5pm. Documents received later than that time, will not be uploaded until the following Wednesday.
Q - HOW DO I APPLY FOR POSITIONS WITH P-BVUSD?

Q - HOW OFTEN ARE SCREENING TESTS PROVIDED?
Some screening tests such as the Clerical and CODESP Paraprofessional test are provided monthly. However, other screening tests such as Account Clerk etc. are usually provided only when an associated position is open. You can visit the HR Calendar to view testing dates.
Q - HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED TO TAKE A SCREENING TEST FOR A POSITION?
A couple of ways: The job posting will indicate the requirement under "Application Requirements". You may also visit HR's "Testing" page and review the "Test detail" link for each test.
