Linda Garcia
Clerk
Linda Garcia has lived in the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District (P-BVUSD) for over 30 years. Her three children attended Stockdale Elementary and Panama Elementary, and graduated from Actis Junior High. She was employed with the District for 25 years as an Instructional Materials Clerk, School Clerk, School Secretary, and Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of the Special Services Department. She is also a certified Paralegal, and has worked for Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance and a local family law attorney. Her passion was to be involved with her children’s education, which led her to join P-BVUSD.
While employed with the district, her passion was "always for the children, seeing their smiling faces come to school each day, help them with their daily needs, and have a listening ear when they needed someone to talk to". She developed relationships with parents, students, and staff. Linda believes that all children deserve a quality education in a safe environment.
Coming from the clerical support group, she wants to ensure that the lines of communication are open to the District staff, and to work collaboratively, as they are an essential part of keeping schools unified. The P-BVUSD has always had a standard of “Excellence in Education,” and Linda saw this firsthand. Linda states "I love that the District is dedicated to creating a culture of Purpose, Caring, and Results, and I look forward to working with the other board members to keep this excellence and culture going".
Linda and her husband, Sam, attend a local church and have ten grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys camping, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
