Panama-Buena Vista Union School District Recognized Nationally
for Outstanding Music Education for All Students
As One of the Best Communities for Music Education,
District Heralded for the Support of Music Education
The NAMM Foundation recognizes the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District (P-BVUSD) for its outstanding commitment to music education with a Best Communities for Music Education designation. P-BVUSD is one of 10 districts in the entire state winning this prestigious national award.
The BCME recognizes the PBVUSD for its district funding, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. Music Education is an integral part of the P-BVUSD curriculum.
The announcement of Best Communities for Music Education for the P-BVUSD brings attention to the importance of keeping music education part of school’s core education and music’s vital role in student success in school. The BCME designation is an important part of the NAMM Foundation’s efforts to advocate for school-based music education. Numerous studies have demonstrated that learning to play music can boost other academic and social skills, such as math and learning to cooperate in a group.
The P-BVUSD takes pride in its motto, "Excellence in Education." We employ a staff of dedicated, energetic, and highly qualified teachers who respect and enjoy working with students. All students in TK, and grades 3 through 8, have equal access to music instruction in all P-BVUSD schools including General Music grades 3-6 and Band, Orchestra and Chorus in grades 4-8.
The P-BVUSD Music Department exemplifies the motto, “Excellence in Education.”
