Music - Visual and Performing Arts

    The mission of the PBVUSD Visual and Performing Arts Department is to provide equal access to quality standards-based arts instruction in all District schools in music and visual arts by competent, qualified teachers.  Because the arts contribute to the total development of the individual and serve an important purpose in society, the District is dedicated to expanding their role within our schools and lives; creating and maintaining a network of community arts and cultural institutions that support all teachers and students in a standards-based arts curriculum; and addressing multiple intelligences, creative thinking, cultural diversity, and special needs.
     
    All of the District elementary students in third through eight grades receive regular, comprehensive, sequential music instruction from certificated music specialists using State adopted standards-based curriculum and resources.  All of the District elementary and junior high students, grades 5-8, have access to Band, Orchestra and Chorus classes providing regular, comprehensive, sequential music instruction from certificated music specialists using State adopted standards-based curriculum and resources.
