Registration and Enrollment

Welcome to our district. We are committed to making the enrollment process as clear and accessible as possible for all families; whether you are enrolling a new student, registering for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or Pre-K, or requesting a transfer.

Students may enroll if they reside within district boundaries or have an approved transfer. Age requirements and eligibility vary by program.

Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K)

Our Pre-K programs provide early learning experiences that prepare children for success in TK and Kindergarten. The program focuses on play-based and structured learning opportunities, early literacy and language development and social and emotional skill-building

Please note that space may be limited, and some programs may require qualification.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

Transitional Kindergarten is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program designed to support early learners.TK provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum that builds foundational skills in literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.

Kindergarten–8 Enrollment

To Enroll, You Will Need:

  • Proof of residency (utility bill, lease agreement, etc.)

  • Student’s birth certificate or legal documentation

  • Immunization records

  • Parent/guardian identification

Once submitted, your child’s school site will contact you to complete the enrollment process.

If you have questions regarding TK or kindergarten programs, first contact your neighborhood school. For  further questions, contact the District’s Department of Instructional Services at (661) 831-8331, ext. 6240.

Interdistrict & Intradistrict Transfers

Families who wish to enroll a student in a school outside their assigned attendance area may submit a transfer request.

Important Information:

  • Transfers are subject to space availability and district policies

  • Approval is not guaranteed

  • Transportation is typically the responsibility of the family
