P-BV Foundation
The Panama-Buena Vista Foundation is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds that will transform lives through the power of literacy. Through strategic partnerships with schools, libraries, and community organizations, the PBV Foundation ensures that every dollar raised directly supports impactful literacy programs.
Our mission is to empower individuals of all ages by providing resources and support to address literacy challenges and create opportunities for individuals to thrive through reading and writing.
The PBV Foundation is a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 charitable entity!
Our foundation has helped several departments in the district in supplying resources to our students. Take a look at the projects your contributions have helped fund!
"The PBV Foundation has made a profound impact on student achievement and well-being through its generous donation of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) libraries for teachers during professional development.
Over the past two years, their partnership with the Student Support Services department has promoted the integration of Social-Emotional Learning practices through literacy into read-aloud libraries focused on SEL topics like self-management and awareness, conflict resolution, celebrating diversity, and more.
We are grateful to the PBV Foundation for their support of SEL and teachers in P-BVUSD!" -Dr. Jazmine Frias, Director of Student Support Services
"The Health, Safety and Wellness department cannot thank the PBV Foundation enough for their continued generosity and support.
Over the last five years their donations have helped provide hundreds of vaccines to students, nearly a hundred prescription glasses, physicals for our Kindergarten students, backpacks for those in need and lots of books of course!
We are so thankful that our community has support from the PBV Foundation to help our students be successful throughout the year and that we have their support in keeping our students safe, healthy and prepared to learn." - Nancy Gordon, Director of Health, Safety and Wellness
"The PBV Foundation has proudly supported our Parent University Program. Their generosity helps equip families with the knowledge and skillsets to effectively support their students.
Their commitment to our district is so evident, and their impact is significant for our students, those who are brand new to our district or to the classroom. This year they sponsored drawstring backpacks, interactive activities and resources for incoming TK/K students!
We are beyond grateful to get the opportunity to partner with the PBV Foundation for our Bingo for Books Family Engagement event in November!" - Susie Ayon, Director of Community and Family Engagement
The P-BV Foundation donated 500 drawstring backpacks for TK/K students new to the district that say "My future is bright at P-BVUSD"
500 students received a backpack with books and supplies to get them ready for starting school for the very first time.
The P-BV Foundation has donated funding for over 90 students to receive prescription glasses at the P-BVUSD Vision Clinic.
Students were all smiles as they chose their new glasses!
The P-BV Foundation funded the 2024 Annual Battle of the Books at the Kern County Museum.
Thanks to generous donations, hundreds of elementary and junior high school students got to share their knowledge and showcase their literacy at this competition!
