Stonecreek Junior High AVID is a
Schoolwide Site of Distinction and National Demonstration School
Schoolwide Site of Distinction is the highest rating that a school can achieve on the Certification Continuum. Schoolwide Site of Distinction Schools are schools that are implementing both the AVID Elective and AVID Schoolwide with high levels of fidelity. It provides recognition and validation of the hard work and commitment demonstrated by staff, students, and the surrounding community. Schools named an AVID Schoolwide Site of Distinction demonstrate AVID methodologies schoolwide, and the distinction indicates there is a strong AVID system transforming the instruction, systems, leadership, and culture of a school, ensuring college readiness for all AVID elective students and improved academic performance for all students based upon increased opportunities.
It is the only binder permitted to be used by students. Instead of purchasing a binder, please provide your child with college-ruled paper, color pencils, pencils and a hand sharpener for regular pencils, or extra lead for mechanical pencils.
PENS/MARKERS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON CAMPUS!
If a pen is needed during class, the teacher will supply it and collect it before the end of class. This includes highlighters as well.
COMMON CORE STANDARDS: PRACTICE TEST
Are you curious about the types of questions students will be asked on the new Common Core Standards Test? Smarter Balanced has provided sample questions you may try. The questions will not be scored, they're just to provide a preview of what students will encounter. Samples of some the sections on the Common Core test are provided, not all. Once on the site, click on the big green icon to begin.
